September Featured Instructor: Tess

Each month we will be featuring one team member and their unique qualities that they bring to CORE and our clients. We hope you get to know each of us a little better and consider training with someone new. Say ‘hello’ to Tess!

CORE Buckhead: What brought you to the movement method that you teach?
Tess: I’ve been a dancer all my life and majored in dance while attending college. During my senior year I tried my first Pilates Mat class. I knew instantly that Pilates would be a great way to strengthen my muscles and relieve the joint pain I experienced from dancing 4-5 hours everyday. I wanted to learn more about the practice, and to share it with my peers. So I decided to enroll in a teacher training program and become an instructor.

CB: How long have you been teaching?
T: I have been teaching since 2012.

CB: What do you like most about teaching?
T: Making my clients feel good!

CB: What is your favorite thing about teaching beginners?
T: Watching them progress each class and become more confident in their body and strength.

CB: What do you hope your clients get out of their sessions?
T: I hope they leave each lesson feeling longer and taller than when they arrived.

CB: What is one piece of advice that you have for clients who are just getting started? One piece of advice for people who have had a long-term practice?
T: Stick with it and enjoy the journey!

Thanks for following along and letting CORE be your catalyst for health and fitness. Next month, we will be featuring Darlene. Stay tuned!
