Our new Wellness Check Up is perfect for giving you an overall health assessment so you know that your goals are SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound). We find that wellness goals often prove to be lofty - and sometimes poorly defined. 

What is a wellness checkup?

In this one-hour appointment, Charlotte Salgado, DPT, will review your medical and personal health history, measure your vitals (height, weight, heart rate and blood pressure), calculate your BMI, and conduct a series of screenings for your neurological status, posture, functional movement, gait, aerobic capacity, strength, flexibility and balance. 

Using the information gathered from the screenings, Charlotte can give you a comprehensive picture of your 2020 baseline to help you measure your progress toward your 2020 wellness goals. She will also make recommendations about specific action items to include in your plan for achieving your goals, including identifying other professionals to include in your wellness team, if needed. 

We tend to think of Physical Therapy as something to do AFTER we have sustained an injury or are facing chronic pain, but this reactive approach to PT misses a critical opportunity: catching the musculoskeletal problems that might put you at risk for an injury or limit your ability to function.
