Kelly Theresa Linton

Kelly Theresa began studying Pilates in 1999 after a life-long struggle with pain.  She was born with a congenital hip dislocation that doctors initially thought would leave her unable to walk; she also suffered a knee injury when she was 20.  Kelly Theresa realized she needed to find an exercise program that would allow her to become fit without causing more pain.  

She started taking Private sessions with Flo Fitzgerald Childs, after she saw a TV spot featuring Pilates on a local station. Due to her hip and knee issues, when she first started, even holding her leg up in the air without assistance was impossible. But over the course of time and with GREAT instruction, there were no exercises that couldn’t be done!  

In January 2007, Kelly Theresa found CORE and started working with Jessica Gowen.

“At this time, I had taken a 2 year break from Private instruction and was not looking forward to explaining all my ‘issues’ to someone new. Everyone at CORE, especially Jessica, was sensitive to my physical past, but didn’t dwell on it. I don’t think about what I can’t do, I want to think about what I CAN do, and how I WILL achieve my goals. The excellent instruction I was given by Jessica and the team at CORE helped to not only change my body, but change my sense of being! So much so, I started working there!”  

Later that spring, she added GYROTONIC®  sessions to her routine and has never felt better!

With the help of Jessica, Kelly Theresa was able to complete her Power Pilates® Beginner and Intermediate Mat Certification in June of 2007. It was a wonderful experience and a great way to bring more to her personal practice.

Prior to joining the CORE team, Kelly Theresa was previously a Regional and District Manager for retail companies including Kate Spade and Pottery Barn Kids. When not working (or working out) at CORE, Kelly Theresa spends her time working with her husband, as President of their IT consulting company. If she’s not there, she’s out buying shoes.
