David KirschbaumGyrotonic Instructor
David Kirschbaum is certified to teach Gyrotonic, all specialized Gyrotonic Equipment, and trained in Level I Gyrokinesis. After receiving an Associate Degree from the School of Culinary Arts at the Art Institute of Atlanta in 1999, David began working as a banquet chef at a private club in the Atlanta area. He later transitioned from food-service to managing a vitamin and nutritional supplement retail store.
With the desire to slow down and be more present in his spiritual, emotional, and physical life, David began a yoga practice in 1999. His growth and passion in daily practice led David to pursue his Yoga Alliance Teacher Certification in the summer of 2003 at Peachtree Yoga Center in Atlanta, GA. David has studied many different forms of yoga. David finds his teaching inspiration from the Anusara system, having done workshops with founder John Friend, as well as studying with Doug Keller. David has continued to hone his yoga practice in multiple workshops in the anatomy of yoga with Tias Little.
In 2004 David was invited to lead a "therapeutic yoga" workshop series at a physical therapy studio which also offered Gyrotonic. Having a growing interest in the field of health, David began his apprenticeship in Gyrotonic Expansion System in October 2004. He has worked closely with Physical Therapists in both rehabilitation and post-rehabilitation settings.
In the fall of 2006, David moved to New York to deepen his understanding of the Gyrotonic System. During his tenure at Gyrotonic New York, he took a number of specialized trainings, including Gyrotonic for Golf, Gyrotonic Abdominals, and a Pre- and Post- Natal course. David was honored to be a certified by creator Juliu Horvath. David has studied with a number of Gyrotonic master trainers.
In September 2007, David returned to Atlanta to join the CORE team. Seeking to be more open and present began what is now the backdrop to both his private and professional practice and the backbone of his approach to each client's needs.
