Jolayne BergPilates & Gyrotonic Instructor
Jolayne is certified to teach both Pilates and GYROTONIC®, and is in the process of receiving her full certification for GYROKINESIS®.
Since 1995, Jolayne has been studying some form of the Pilates method, primarily with Iso Rhythmic Dance Conditioning, which warms up the body with a rhythmic Pilates, then incorporates dance moves. In 2005, Jolayne moved to Atlanta and began a more traditional practice. She made the decision to begin training to become a certified instructor, studying with Physicalmind Institute.
By 2006 she was fully certified to instruct, and had begun dabbling into the world of Gyrotonic as well. After studying under master trainers Anjali Austin, Sebastian Plettenberg, Kathy Van Patten, and Bradley Kreamer, Jolayne completed her Gyrotonic certification in 2007.
Continuing to discover and grow is a privilege and joy to Jolayne, and she is always excited to take in new information from master trainers all over the world. In 2008, she completed her Jumping Stretching Board certification with Bradley Kreamer and studied approaches to the Shoulder Girdle with Paul Horvath.
Jolayne has studied and performed professional theatre since the age of 9, and attended Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Washington. Though she has also studied many different styles of dance from the age of 3, she has concentrated most recently on Latin dance, competing and performing as a professional Salsa dancer since 2001.
Jolayne has always felt a passion for using the body to express and communicate and believes that becoming in touch with and aware of our own bodies can be transformative on many levels.
